Commission Guide Prices

“How much does it cost to commission a painting?”

This is a question we are often asked, and the honest answer is, “It depends” - which isn’t very helpful, so on this page we will explain some of the factors that affect pricing and outline a few sample prices. Alison is happy to consider commission requests that are appropriate to her body of work, in addition to this she has also painted customers’ homes on several occasions.

“Llangwm Cap”, commissioned painting

Several factors can affect the cost of a commissioned painting, including size, content, medium, travel expenses, accessibility of the subject, and picture framing. Due to the extra work involved, prices are usually approximately 25% higher than Alison’s equivalent “off the wall” prices. In the examples below we have assumed the subject is in range of our base - other areas may also incur travel expenses.

Note that picture framing is not included, we always quote this separately on completion.
