I first painted this view in the summer of 2008, and the original Snowdonia from the East was purchased by the National Library of Wales for their collection. I have long planned to revisit this scene in winter, and my twentieth anniversary of full-time practice seemed a good opportunity. This view is from near the Giler Arms, looking across Ysbyty Ifan to the whole Northern range.
