This is the classic view of the Snowdon Horseshoe in North Wales, from alongside the Mymbyr Lakes in Capel Curig. It is seen here in early winter with a light fall of snow over the tops leaving the approaches uncovered. The dramatic light in the sky is typical of the fast-changing weather, and it is this light that particularly drew Alison's eye when composing this oil painting.
