Energy

from £250.00

The sea never stops. That's what makes it so compelling to paint. The waves keep coming, one after another, and you realise the sea isn't performing for anyone - it's just doing what it's always done.

Energy takes in a deep coastal view, the eye travelling from the sandy shore all the way out to where the horizon meets a bright, open sky. The palette shifts warmer than you might expect - sandy golds and soft greens alongside the blues and whites - and the brushwork captures the constant, restless movement of water that never quite settles.

The kind of painting that changes with the light in the room.

Meet Alison

I'm Alison Bradley, an artist now based in Devon, after starting my professional practice in 2005 with my own galleries in North Wales and Chester.

I've been painting the British landscape for over twenty years - oils mainly, sometimes charcoal - working from life before developing pieces in the studio with layers of colour and light. My inspiration comes from the coastline, countryside and the people and animals who belong to them.

I've shown work at the Royal Cambrian Academy, and have been featured on the BBC and Channel 4. My work is in private collections worldwide, and in the National Collection of the National Library of Wales.

My hope is always the same - that a painting connects with something personal to you. A memory of a walk, a love of the coast, or simply somewhere to rest your eyes at the end of the day.
